This big bag unloading system was supplied to Materiales de Construcción Rampuixa, S.A. on Ibiza. Rampuixa supplies construction materials on the island, where every binder used on Ibiza crosses the water first. On islands of this size cement often arrives in big bags rather than by bulk vessel, because bagged parcels travel on the general cargo and ferry routes that already serve the island, while a bulk discharge operation would need a berth and a shore installation the volume does not justify. The big bag unloading system supplied to Rampuixa handles the step between the two: bags are lifted into an enclosed unloading station, opened and emptied under extraction, and the cement is conveyed on and loaded into bulk tankers for delivery across the island. Nothing is transferred in the open. The relationship has continued past the installation, with pipeline supports, a bulk tanker discharge filter, a twelve-hook big bag lifting frame and further wear parts supplied since.
