This big bag unloading system was designed for Q Saudi Trading Company at Yanbu Port, Saudi Arabia. Big bag handling is often the practical entry point into bulk cement for a trading and distribution business. The product can be bought, shipped and stored in bags using standard equipment, and only has to become bulk at the last step. The system supplied to Q Saudi Trading is that last step. Bags are lifted into an enclosed unloading station where the spout is opened under extraction, and the cement is discharged into the downstream conveying and storage line without being exposed at any point. The station deals with the dust where it is generated instead of leaving it to the building around it. The installation sits at Yanbu Port on the Red Sea, and the system was designed around that site rather than taken off a shelf. Yanbu is a transit port: material arrives in bags, has to be turned into bulk quickly and moved on, and there is no room for a transfer point that spills.
