Bolted Steel Storage Silos and Rail Loading

Two 1,200 tonne bolted steel storage silos were delivered to Traçim Çimento through 2025 and 2026. Bolted steel storage silos of this size are the usual answer when a plant or terminal needs to separate cement types, hold a buffer against delivery schedules, or add capacity without the civil works and the lead time a concrete silo demands. The shell sections are manufactured and coated in the factory, shipped flat and bolted together on site, which keeps the work on the customer’s ground short and predictable. Each silo carries its own filter, level instrumentation, fluidisation system and discharge equipment, so the pair can be operated as two independent cells rather than one large store. At the Edirne works the silos were not supplied on their own. They feed a rail wagon loading station on the siding beside them, so the terminal was built to receive, store and dispatch by rail in one line. That is what the site photograph shows: the two bolted cells, the elevated gallery and the loading station over the track. Storage and dispatch designed together is worth more than either bought separately, because the buffer and the loading rate are matched from the start.
